The Jewish area in Vienna mainly includes the second district – Leopoldstadt, where most of Vienna’s Jewish residents are concentrated. In the center of the second district is the famous Tabor Street with its kosher restaurants.
The first district – Stadttempel, adjacent to the second district, is in a more central location in Vienna. In the first district is located the Stadttempel – Vienna’s main synagogue, as well as the Jewish Museum.
Kosher hotels in Vienna
1. Vayalen Boutique Hotel (Former Hotel Resonanz)
A great hotel located in the heart of the Jewish area in Vienna, near synagogues, restaurants and kosher shops. Offers a strictly kosher breakfast (Kosher Rabbi Biderman – Chabad Vienna).
Suitable for Shabbat Observant: rooms with a Shabbat key (mechanical), without sensors.
2. Hotel Stefanie Vienna
An excellent hotel in the center of the Jewish area, decorated in an elegant European style. A kosher and basic breakfast can be ordered (from Ohel Moshe Deli), for an additional fee of 5 euros per person. Nice and kind staff.
Suitable for Sabbath observers: The doors of the rooms are not electric. The main front door is electric, but there is a “Sabbath Gentile” service throughout the Shabbat near the door.
3. Liechtenstein Pension
A guest house in a central location in the heart of Vienna, owned by a Jew. The hotel doesn’t have breakfast but there are kosher shops and bakeries nearby.
Sabbath: The hotel provides regular (non-electric) room keys. You can get a Shabbat hot plate and a kettle.
Attention: There are two hotels called “Liechtenstein Pension” in Vienna. The Jewish Hotel is located in the second district.
4. Pension Tal Studios
A simple and cheap guest house in the Jewish area of Vienna, a short walk from the Stadttempel (12 minutes). Units include a basic kitchenette with fridge, microwave and kettle. Close to kosher shops and restaurants. Close to the metro station. Owner speaks Hebrew.

Great hotel in a perfect location in the center of the Jewish area, minutes from Tabor Street and Chabad House, close to kosher restaurants and not far from the city center.
There is a gym at the hotel. The rooms are new and air conditioned, with a minibar and a kit for making hot drinks and large and beautiful balconies.
Reasonable and inexpensive prices – super affordable.
6. Der Wilhelmshof
A new and modern hotel in the heart of the Jewish area, close to Prater and Super Shefa Market.
Great location, close to the metro station and about ten minutes drive from the city center. Charming, air-conditioned rooms, some with a balcony.
Attached parking for a fee.
7. Hotel Prater Vienna
A very good hotel in the Jewish area of Vienna. Located right behind the “Shefa Market” kosher supermarket, where you can buy kosher food products and sit for coffee and a light meal.
Beautiful, clean and modern rooms, courteous service and affordable price.
8. Florum Hotel
A pleasant and beautiful hotel in the Jewish area near the Vienna Chabad house, on Taborstrasse street, 3 minutes’ walk from the Chabad house.
The rooms are relatively large (note: not air-conditioned!), and include a mini-bar fridge, electric kettle and safe box.
Suitable for Shabbat Observant: provide a standard mechanical key, allow entry through emergency stairs without sensors that are illuminated throughout Shabbat.
9. SO/ Vienna
A beautiful, modern and luxurious 5-star hotel in the center of Vienna, in the heart of the Jewish area and close to kosher restaurants. Located in the city center, close to most sites and attractions. Not cheap but the value is accordingly:
Rooms are air conditioned and feature a bath and rain shower, minibar and other treats. The hotel is equipped with a gym, and a free spa for hotel guests. Free Wi-Fi in all areas.
On the 18th floor of the hotel there is a bar-restaurant whose walls are all made of glass, and through which there is an amazing panoramic view of the city.
Tip: When booking, it is advisable to request a room on the upper floors of the hotel and enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of Vienna.
10. Hotel Mercure Wien City
4-star hotel in a perfect location in the center of Vienna – in the area of the Jewish Quarter, and a short walk from the city center. It is 5 minutes away from the Chabad house and the kosher restaurants.
Rooms are spacious and air conditioned, with a minibar, safe box and electric kettle.
11. Novotel Wien City
Hotel in a great location in the center of Vienna, opposite the Ringstraße and very close to kosher restaurants.
Rooms are air conditioned and some are suitable for families.
Reasonable price. Private parking for a fee.
12. Living Hotel an der Oper
Great hotel in the center of Vienna, near the Opera House. The Stadttempel Synagogue and Alef Alef Restaurant are also within walking distance.
Rooms are extra large, air conditioned and come with a tea/coffee maker, safe box and minibar.
Great value for money.
13. Hotel Royal
Excellent hotel in a perfect location in the center of Vienna, close to the main sites and also to the Jewish area.
Rooms are air conditioned, soundproofed and feature a seating area and a minibar. Some are equipped with elegant Italian furniture.
Reasonable price. Adjacent to the Stefanplatz underground station.
14. Parks 73 The Townhouse Hotel
Excellent new apartment hotel near Belvedere Palace, next to a tram stop.
Rooms and apartments are air conditioned and feature a well-equipped kitchen, most of which also have a balcony.
Reasonable price. Attached parking for a fee.
A luxurious, old 5-star hotel in a perfect location in the center of Vienna: a minute from St. Stephen’s and the Opera and a 10-minute walk from the Great Synagogue and kosher restaurants.
The hotel’s spacious and elegant rooms are individually decorated and feature selected antiques.

The apartments come in a variety of sizes and are suitable for up to 8 people (5 adults and 3 children).

Please note: In the apartment itself and also at the entrance to it there is a sensor that turns on the lighting every time you open the door to leave or enter, currently it is not possible to disable the sensors.
In addition, there is a regular mechanical key and the apartment is in a great location close to the Chabad House and synagogues.
